Understanding funding options available for land based renewable energy projects

Co-ordinated by the Rural Research and Strategy Partnership (RRSP) in collaboration with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), the University of Surrey and Forest Research.

This workshop will describe current options for financing land-based renewable energy projects.

The event is co-ordinated by the Rural Research and Strategy Partnership (RRSP), a partnership of five of UK's leading Universities and Forest Research. Delivered in collaboration with the Royal Bank of Scotland, it will bring together leading experts in economics, policy, finance and technology to facilitate the exchange of experience and information.

An expert technology panel will highlight the situations best suited for biomass, wind and solar. The panel will illustrate how the technologies are being deployed in different contexts and will also provide an opportunity for you to ask questions relating to your project.

A finance panel will discuss the current support schemes for renewable power electricity projects (the Renewable Obligation and feed-in tarrifs) and will highlight different financial approaches that may be appropriate in different projects. They will examine the funding landscape and discuss how project managers can prepare themselves for changes which may be on the horizon through the Renewable Heat Incentive and the 'green investment bank'.

There is no fee for this event. Lunch will be provided. PLease advise any special dietary needs.

Directions: The venue is very close to Liverpool Street station (main line rail & underground). From the station, take the escalators to Bishopsgate exit. At street level tuen left. After 100 metres you will find RSB's 135 Bishopsgate offices (adjacent to Hobbs clothing store).
